Just a foreword because not everyone has the same s#xual tastes, but this includes MMFM and a female has also been introduced into the fold as a mate to the heroine.Personally, I would consider this Polygamy and not reverse harem.The book had such great potential... however, it had very little plot and not much character development either. Even the heroine wasn't fleshed out! There's a lot of telling me what to think and not a lot of showing.The beginning was very intriguing...The story takes place after the heroine, Ashera, overthrows the Demon Kingdom in order to abolish slavery and free the People. The Reader then becomes immersed in how the new Queen will create new treaties in abolishing slavery with the other Kingdoms who currently still agree to the archaic and suppressive slavery laws.But when we are introduced to each new male character from each kingdom, it literally turns into sex... after sex... after sex scene. Literally, EVERY chapter has sex in it: even a couple times in that very same chapter, too.It is HAWT, but I got bored. 😶 The blurb was amazing and I was expecting fabulous world building and actual story and development of characters. But it missed the mark on all of that. Also, towards the end I feel the two additional characters were just added for more... sex. 🤣Hey, if that's what you're in the mood for this is definitely for you. It's hot, don't get me wrong, but I was looking for what the blurb described. Sadly, the plot turned into an afterthought and was almost non-existent.For these reasons, I won't continue the series. Blood Crown, by both Elizabeth Brown and Torri Heat, is freaking phenomenal! They promised their readers that this book would have sex in every chapter and freaking DELIVERED, and damn these sexual encounters are SCORCHING WITH SPICINESS!This story follows Ashera, a powerful succubus Queen, who has just won her kingdom, Shaytan, by overthrowing the previous oppressors and then she released all of their human slaves. After sending summons to all other leaders of the kingdoms in the country of Dunya, Ashera begins to meet with their envoys to discuss trade agreements and the possibility of freeing all human slaves throughout their country. Ashera thought she knew what to expect from these envoys as they came from an upbringing of keeping humans as slaves and looking down on all women as if they were worse than humans, but fate has another idea for Ashera and her future mates!I acquired this book as an ARC because I'm part of the amazing Elizabeth Brown's street team! I was really looking forward to reading this book and it did not disappoint at all.Rating on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being exceptional), this is how I rank the following aspects of "Blood Crown":- Quality of writing: 10/10- Pace: 9/10- Plot development: 10/10- Characters: 10/10- Enjoyability: 10/10- Ease of Reading: 10/10In addition, this book is HOT, super steamy and fiery, and absolutely marvelous. Obviously with Ashera being a succubus queen, she can't have enough mates and she loves sex. I can see where others wish they could be Ashera but I think it would be even better to be one of her mates. I wish I was one of her mates! The mates she does have are all amazing in their own ways and each of them is unique. I adore all of her mates but I definitely have a soft spot for Ambrose because you know I love a good alphahole.I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy paranormal romance, reverse harem novels and supernatural erotica.
